Black List

About the credit black list

Is there really a Credit Black List
In a word, No. - No black list exists or ever has done!. But it certainly is talked about a lot. The term black list is used often when talking about ones inability to get credit. But this is purely a term for describing a number of problems that someone may have with credit and does not mean that they are listed somewhere destined never to get credit again. Indeed the term does rather suggest that there is an inability to do anything about a poor credit situation if you were to be "black listed". But since no list exists, everyone does have a chance to clean up, repair and restore their credit standing.

In the first place it would be necessary to get a copy of your credit files from the main credit bureaus. These bureaus are often held up as being the holders and even creators of black lists, but in reality they simply hold information about your past payment history with previous lenders and it is for new lenders to make a decision based on this information.

Now that there is no black list - what next?
