Adverse Credit Entries on your Credit File

How to remove poor credit entries

Reasons for Adverse Credit
If you have defaulted on, or completely given up paying for a loan within the last 6 years - you may find a default record. Apart from county court judgments and bankruptcy, default records are the leading cause of adverse credit.

Having a default record on your credit history file is obviously not in your interest. A default will be a large contributor to adverse credit as each record is basically the old lender telling the world that he had a bad experience with you ..... and of course other lenders will note this!.

If you have credit which is adverse due to these types of records being incorrectly placed on your credit file then of you should not suffer for this type of mistake. Write to the credit agencies, Experian and Equifax, and insist they remove any incorrect data.

Removing Defaults
However if the adverse entry is valid and truthful, then the best way to have this removed is to persuade the lender concerned to remove it. There are a number of different approaches that can be used depending on the age of the debt and the amount etc.
